Job Interview!........Just Relax
Job interview tips - Relax ... If you allow yourself to become worked up during a job interview, you will not give your best performance.
- Answer each question concisely ... Don't ramble on and on when you do respond to a question.
- Always use good manners. (Perhaps when it comes to this point on the tips for job interview, it is best to remember what your mother taught you about good manners.)
- Make sure you learn the name of the person who will interview you.
- Use proper language .... Do not use slang terms.
- Ask appropriate questions about the position that is available and the company or business itself. (However, be careful not to ask basic questions that can be answered with a minimal amount of research about the position or the company.)
- Try to avoid asking questions about salary or benefits during the initial interview. You will be able to ascertain that information later in the process if you get through the first interview.
- In advance of your interview, make certain that you dress appropriately for the interview. When dressing for the interview, you need to pay heed to the type of job that you are applying for at the time.
- If you are asked to provide additional information to the potential employer during the course of the interview, make certain that you do provide the materials that were requested during the interview promptly.
- Make certain that you send a follow up note to the person who interviewed you. Even in this high-tech age, a written (rather than electronic) note is best. You might want so send both an email and a written note to the interviewer.
